Corporate Social Responsibility

Employment Generation Program

The Cebu Port Authority through the Administrative Division conducted the hiring process with fifty (50) vacant positions to fill. It commenced on May 26, 2023. Despite the arrival of the newly appointed General Manager, Francisco C. Comendador III, on July 7, 2023, the process proceeded smoothly and was concluded within six months.

Out of the fifty positions, forty-seven (47) were filled. Notably, the positions of Harbor Operations Officer and Sr. Management Information Systems Researcher faced challenges in recruitment, with no applicants meeting the requirements. Nevertheless, this initiative resulted in the hiring of eleven (11) new employees and the promotion of thirty-six (36) existing organic employees, with their appointments issued last December 1, 2023.

Poverty Alleviation

As part of the 31st Founding Anniversary of the Cebu Port Authority, a Bloodletting Activity was organized, entitled "Dugtong Buhay, Handog ng Lingkod Bayan," last June 22, 2023. This initiative aimed to address the constant need for a regular blood supply while fostering volunteerism and collaboration among employees and stakeholders, ultimately benefiting patients in need of blood transfusions.

Additionally, a Mangrove Tree Planting Activity was conducted on October 21, 2023, at Carmen, Cebu. This endeavor not only contributes to environmental conservation but also supports livelihoods and provides crucial protection for coastal communities against natural disasters such as coastal flooding, high winds, waves, and tsunamis.

Sportsfest

In commemoration of the 31st Founding Anniversary of Cebu Port Authority, an exciting Sportsfest was organized. It was a promotion of camaraderie, teamwork, and healthy competition among employees.  The Sportsfest served as a platform for employees to engage in various sports activities, promoting physical fitness and well-being within the workplace. These included events such as fun run, volleyball, basketball, table tennis, and bowling.
