>> Cebu Baseport is 10 degrees 18’ Latitude, 123 degrees 53’ Longitude.

>> Suited at the city frontage between Cebu and Mactan Island, the port runs a total length of 4,202 meters (from International to Domestic Zone)

>> The international zone has a length of 690 meters and the Domestic zone has 3,707 meters.

 

Location

On the east coast of the Cebu Island at the northern end of the Cebu strait.

 

Port Limits

Cebu Harbor as that part of the Strait between Mactan Island and the island of Cebu within the following boundaries: an imaginary line extending from Pangulan Point, Mactan Island, Bagacay Point, Island of Cebu; and an imaginary line extending from Lawis Ledge, Mactan Island, to Lipata Point, Island of Cebu.

The Original copy of the Manifest for all through cargo destined for others ports to be deposited with the Customs Inspector on board.

 

Maximum Size

Cebu International Port (Berth 2-5) has a draft of minus 8.5 m at MLLW Cebu

Domestics Zone (Berth 6-28) has a draft of minus 6.5 m at MLLW Ludo & Luym Port has a draft of 12.19 m at MLLW

 

Restrictions

1.    Foreign Ships are not allowed to pass the North Channel, due to the bridge

between Mandaue and Opon. However, ships of 24.38 m vertical height from

MLLW and length of 91.44m may pass with utmost care.

 

2.    Draft limitation of 12.19m for Cebu Channel while port established berthing

space vary from 3.05-9.14m.

 

3.    Ballast and oil are prohibited to be discharged within the Cebu Harbor and

Philippine waters.

 

 

Bridges

The Mandaue-Mactan Bridge and the Marcelo Fernan Bridge crossing the North Channel are open to traffic with a clearance of 76ft. at HW and 80ft.at LW.

 

 

Approaches

 

Fairway. Vessels can either enter the harbor through the narrow strait either from the northeast or from the south. With the 25.3m vertical clearance of

Cebu-Mactan Bridge, large ocean-going vessels and some inter-island vessels have to take the south entrance. The northeast channel is narrow. It has a navigable width of at least 50m and a controlling depth of 8.8m. It is comparatively straight and properly marked with beacons, buoys, and lights for navigational guides. The channel from the southern approach is wider. It is 805m or 0.5 miles wide at the narrowest point.

 

Navigational Aids. To achieve maximum safety to sea navigation, the port is Equipped with the following safety facilities.

 

Cebu North Channel – Black Buoy No.1, Red Buoy No.2, Bantolino Beacon No.3 and White Beacon fronting Pier No.1.

 

Cebu South Channel – Lawis Lighthouse and Red Buoy C No.3 Black Buoy C No.1, Red Buoy C, Beacon No.2, Capitol Light, Ludo Wharf, San Nicholas Church red Lighted cross, and Compania Maritima Building.
