Pending the installation of air-conditioning units and necessary utilities, the collection of terminal fee at the Passenger Terminal 3 (formerly 2Go passenger terminal) at the Cebu Baseport was suspended until further notice.
This was the directive of the Office of the General Manager in a memorandum dated 13 June 2014 addressed to the department heads of the Cebu Port Authority.
According to the memorandum, the suspension of the collection of the P25-peso terminal fee is for reasons of public interest and welfare pursuant to the CARES (Convenient, Affordable, Reliable, Efficient and Safe) policy of the Department of Transportation and Communication (DOTC) under the leadership of Honorable Secretary Joseph Emilio Aguinaldo Abaya.
The move was likewise recommended by the Legal Affairs Deparment, Office of the Deputy General Manager and the CPA 2Go Passenger Terminal Takeover Team.
