“Oplan Ligtas na Krismas”

In line with the Department of Transportation and Communications’ ‘Oplan Ligtas na Kristmas’, the Cebu Port Authority will present its action plan on “Luwas nga Pasko nganhi sa Sugbo” to ensure a safe and convenient journey for all holiday makers during the Christmas break.

Good news for all port users! The Cebu Port Authority shall ensure that the following measures are properly in place and well implemented in the ports of Cebu:

Augment existing number of security personnel

  • Provide K-9 units at CPA Passenger Terminals 1 (Pier 1), 2 (Pier 3) & 3 (5th Street)
  • Provide patrol boat
  • Provide Passenger Help Desks in Passenger Terminals
  • Provide Medical Station in Passenger Terminals
  • Provide streamers / tarpaulins indicating CPA hotline number for information of the public should they need assistance
  • Provide barricades for easy crowd control
  • Provide signage for information and guidance to the public
  • Assist arriving passengers who wish to board taxi cabs
  • Heighten the Implementation of  “No Boat Ticket, No Entry” policy
  • And level-up feedback mechanism for any complaint arising from passenger influx

“It’s the time of year when [Filipino] families reunite and enjoy the spirit of Christmas,” DOTC Secretary Mar Roxas said. “DOTC is playing an active role in ensuring that our people can travel back to their respective hometowns and be with their loved ones safely, in the most convenient manner.”

‘Oplan Ligtas na Krismas’ is part of DOTC’s continuing program to provide people with safe, affordable, and reliable transportation during the lengthy holiday breaks such as All Saints’ Day, Holy Week and the opening of school classes.”
