Port Statistics Welcome to the Port Statistics Page of the Cebu Port Authority Website! This page must help you gather information on port statistics at the Port of Cebu. Our port statistics are divided into four main categories: Shipcalls / Shipping Traffic, Container Traffic, Cargo Traffic, and Passenger Traffic. To access statistical information, navigate the submenus of the Statistics page.
For easier reference, we have defined the following statistical information: Shipcalls / Shipping Traffic - The number of vessels which call or arrive at a particular port at any given time. The number of shipcall is expressed in number of units of vessels that called the Port of Cebu. Container Traffic - The volume of containerized cargo discharged and loaded at a port. Container Traffic is expressed in TEU’s or Twenty Equivalent Units. Cargo Throughput - The volume of cargo discharged and loaded at the port. This is information is expressed in MT’s or Metric Tons. Passenger Traffic - The number of passengers, both embarking and disembarking, in a particular port at any given time.
Further, the following are some important details that may be very useful for your information: Gross Registered Tonnage (GRT) - The measure of the internal volume of space within a vessel expressed in terms of 100 cubic feet a ton, except to the following spaces; shelter deck spaces with permanent middle line openings at least four feet long and of the width of the cargo hatch, lavatories for officers and crew, shelters for deck passengers on short voyages, condensed space, close-in spaces solely for machinery, cookhouse and bakeries, wheelhouse. Metric Ton - The weight measurement that is equivalent to 2,204.6 lbs or 1,000 kilograms. Transshipment - The removal of goods from one vessel to another for on-carriage from port of discharge to a further destination. Transit Cargo - Cargo discharged and loaded from a port of origin to a port of destination through another port.
